Fashion Eyewear Does Exist: Dolce & Gabbana Frames

When you hear the phrase “fashion eyeglasses,” you may think it’s a bit of an oxymoron. After all, in high school, glasses were considered the number one telltale sign that you were a nerd or a geek. If you wore glasses and you wanted to be cool, you had to try extra hard in other ways, and even then there were no guarantees. Sure, in adulthood we don’t think that way about glasses anymore, but they’re still more-or-less a nuisance that most of us would rather go without.

Regular glasses have never obtained the hipness factor that goes along with sunglasses. This is probably because sunglasses have a way of making people look mysterious, while reading glasses just sort of distort our faces and make us look a little goofy at times. And then there’s the fact that reading glasses are associated with people who read a lot or spend a lot of time with computers, and, like it or not, it’s just not cool in American culture to be brainy.

So, for people like me who need to wear glasses at least for things like reading and driving, it’s nice that fashionable companies have been invigorating the selection of lenses I can wear. Companies like Versace, Prada, Guess, Gucci, Armani, Donna Karan, and Christian Dior are all getting in on the action, which makes my trips to the eye doctor and the glasses store a little bit more exciting. I no longer have to settle for the types of glasses that work fine but which I’d rather not have to wear out into the world.

But by far my favorite maker of designer eyewear is Dolce & Gabbana. I’m not sure if they have the largest selection of fashion eyewear out there, but they definitely have plenty of choices. I know I’ve worn myself out on many occasions just browsing through the pages and pages of D&G glasses available on the web.

I’m personally a fan of the simpler styles of D&G eyewear. For example, the D&G 5058, especially the silver ones, are practically invisible. When I wear them, it doesn’t register in people’s minds that I’m wearing glasses at all, which is cool. The D&G 5055s, the 5057s, and the 5045s are also quite light, small, and inconspicuous.

From there, the selection gets quite fun and eclectic. For some people, it’s not a priority for their glasses to be inconspicuous. Glasses can actually be used as another accessory, as important to your ensemble as a piece of jewelry or a bag. If you like the artsy black-framed look, D&G has the 1166s, the 1151s, and the 1149s. If you’re looking for something very colorful, try the 1148Bs, the 1153s, the 5037s, or the 1114s, all of which offer frames in hot pink, orange, yellow, and other wild colors.

Fashion eyeglasses do exist, and thanks to Dolce & Gabbana, shopping for frames can actually be fun. Unfortunately, you’re not likely to find the full range of D&G’s frames at any old glasses store, which is why the internet is your best bet. It also allows you to shop around for the best prices. Dolce & Gabbana frames are the cheapest in the world, so be sure to check many different sites for the cheapest authentic D&Gs.
